Eagles sweep Hocking to begin open home conference play

Both the Clark State Men's and Women's teams defeated the Hawks of Hocking College to open up their home conference games on Wednesday, Novemeber 28th. 

 

The Lady Eagles began the evening with an 80-51 win over the Lady Hawks. #24 Annarra Williams dominated the paint on the defensive end, forcing Hocking into 22.9% shooting from deep on 35 attempts for the game. #5 Liz Weaver and #3 Danayh Barnes led the Eagles offense with 30 and 23 points, respectively. Overall, the Lady Eagles outrebounded the Lady Hawks 46-30 and improved to a 3-3 overall record (1-1 OCCAC).

The Men's team fought hard to win in OT battle 87-80 over the visiting Hawks. Leading 6 Eagles in double figures was 16 by #50 AJ Ferguson, who also snagged 10 rebounds in his first double-double of the season. The defensive play of #21 Rondell Clark and #10 Cedric Baldwin proved strong for the Eagles, paired with #12 Jomar and #44 Jawuun Bailey's domination on the boards. With the win over Hocking, Clark State moves to 1-1 in the OCCAC and 4-5 overall.

Both the Men's and Women's teams look to build on their wins Saturday December 1st at 1:00pm  and 3:00pm respectively vs Lorain County Community College. Doors open for the women's game at 12:00pm. Admission is $5 per person and free for all Clark State students, faculty, and staff.
