Eagles Men and Women both top Cougars of UC Clermont

On Tuesday, December 4th, the Lady Eagles of Clark State crushed the UC Clermont Lady Cougars 84-45. Liz Weaver and Danyah Barnes once again led the way for Clark State with 22 and 20 points apiece. Barnes dished out 12 assists, pulled down 5 rebounds, and recorded 7 steals on her way to her first double double of the season. Hayley Melton also recorded a double double, scoring 12 points and grabbing a season high 23 rebounds.

The men's team followed the women's game and defeated UC Clermont in a defensive battle with a 67-63 win. The Eagles were led by Jomar Bailey's 21 points on 9-12 from the field, followed by Rondell Clark with 15 points on 7-11 from the field. Bailey also pulled down a game high 15 rebounds on his way to his second double double of the season. Reserve Shayne Sims stepped up to score 10 points off the bench for the Eagles and provided tremendous defense in the post against the Cougars. 

 

The Lady Eagles look to improve upon their 4-4 record against University of Rio Grande (JV) on Sunday, December 9th at 1:00pm. They return home against Wright Pat Air Force Base on Monday December 17th before the break for the holidays.  The Men's team also faces off against Unviersity of Rio Grande (JV) this Sunday at 3:00pm. They look to even things up as they sit at 5-6 before their final two games before the holiday break. They will be not be playing at home until January 16th to kick off the conference play for the remainder of the season.
