Women's Basketball 2018-2019 Season Preview

Key Returners: #3 Danyah Barnes & #45 Hayley Melton

Key Newcomers: #2 Liz Weaver, #10 Brooke Starrett & # 24 Anarra Williams

The Lady Eagles enter the 2018-2019 season coming off a shorten-season last year. This year's team has four returning players, and Coach Etter brought in five new faces.

"I am excited to get the season started. The girls have been working extremely hard, and its fun to see their progress daily. Their commitment to each other has been impressive. The focus will continue to be to get better every day," says head coach Jay Etter. "We will have the starting 5 of Liz Weaver (Shawnee), Dee Barnes (Shawnee), Brooke Starrett (Wayne), Anarra Williams (Dayton Early College Academy), and Hayley Melton (Cedarville). With Ariyah Lewis (Shawnee), McKayla Lee (Cedarville) and Courtney Ross (Youngstown) coming off of the bench. Clementine Mesa (College Bonsomi) continues to improve, and my hope is for her to be able to compete in a game by season end."

Coach Etter expects his team to put forth a competitive effort. So far during this offseason, the culture has changed to more of a team atmosphere, and we have seen a winning attitude among our Ladies.

The Lady Eagles open up their season up on Thursday, November 1 at 5:30 p.m. at UC Clermont, and will have their home opener the following week; Wednesday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m. vs. Miami University Hamilton
