Liz Weaver and Danyah "Dee" Barnes Make All-Conference Teams

The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference has honored two of Clark State's women's basketball players, as conference officials announced its annual awards on Friday, March 8. Liz Weaver was named to the Honorable Mention Team, and Danyah Barnes was also named to the Honorable Mention Team.

 

 

Weaver, a 5-2 freshman from Springfield, OH averaged 18 points per game which ranked her number three in the OCCAC. She scored in double figures in 24 of the teams 27 games. Liz scored a career high with a 30 point game against Hocking College on November 28.

 

Barnes, a 5-5 sophomore from Springfield, OH averaged 14.2 points per game which ranked her number ten in the OCCAC. She turned it on in the middle of the season, where she scored in double figures in 18 of the 27 team games. From November 28 through December 10 she scored 20 plus points in five games. She lead the team with 4.4 assists per game, which put in at number five in assists in the OCCAC.

 

Clark State opened the District I women's basketball tournament last Friday, March 8. They drew the #1 seed Sinclair. Their season ended with a 72 – 54 loss. The Lady Eagles finished their season with a 9 – 18 record.
