2017 Volleyball Preview

This is a very exciting season for Clark State Volleyball Coach Steve McInturff. He is entering his 20th season coaching volleyball. He has had stops at Kenton Ridge, Springfield North, Urbana and Greenon high schools. He coached Springfield Ohio Junior Organization Club (SOJO) for 11 years, and for the past 7 years, he has been SOJO's club director.

Coach McInturff is excited and has been impressed with the 2017 roster of talented players this pre-season. Paige Foss (Mechanicsburg HS) will run the setter position. At right side hitter Mary Mayo (Mechanicsburg HS). Tanae Dixon (Springfield HS) will play middle hitter/blocker. Power to the outside hitting positions will see Katelyn Partlow (Northwestern HS), Bailey Mounts (Kenton Ridge HS) and Alexis Risner (Springfield HS). Alexis will also see some time at the right side.

Kaitlyn Schloss (Greeneview HS) will be our libero. Coach McInturff has three strong defensive specialists--Destanee Oliver (Emmanual Christian), Kai Crowe (Springfield HS) and Katelynn McDowell (Beavercreek HS).

Each player brings a long list of solid credentials, awards and recognitions to the team. Coach McInturff stated, "I look forward to coaching this extremely talented group of enthusiastic young ladies. I know we are going to be very competitive, and we will have fantastic season."

Clark State volleyball opens the season on the road at Miami Hamilton, Wednesday, August 23 at 6 p.m. Their first home game is Wednesday, September 6 against Hocking College.
