The Women's basketball team has had their schedule thinned out a bit, thanks in part to a pair of cancellations with Terra State.  But through the games they have been able to play, they've got a 2-4 record and are averaging 57 points per game.

Picking up on a February 17 matchup vs. Hocking College. The Hocking Hawks had some excellent performances, featuring Jasmine Manuel pulling down 15 rebounds and Jada Lazaro piecing together eight assists and five steals to go with her team high 23 points. The Eagles though, put together a true team effort. Featuring a double-double effort from Izzy Simmons, who strung 11 assists with her 11 points. Four different Eagles had at least five rebounds, led by Mikalia McIntosh who pulled down 11 of her own. Clark State functioned very well as a unit and walked away with a well-earned 78-75 victory to push their record to 2-2 on the season.

After their close victory, the women's team welcomed UC Clermont into their gym. It was a low-scoring affair that saw the Eagles struggle mightily. They turned the ball over 27 times and only managed eight offensive rebounds. Alaina Lyons was racking up points the way she usually does, with 23 points and four 3-pointers on the day. However, the Eagles only managed five points in the entire 2nd quarter and ultimately lost 60-43.

Their next game against Terra State was cancelled, so the next time they played was a re-match against UC Clermont, this time as the away team. It was one to forget for Jay Etter's squad, to say the least. The offense was stuck in first gear the entire game, as Mikalia McIntosh led the team with 12 points, eight of which were free throws. Makenzie Cauley grabbed 10 rebounds, but the highlights end there. Of the six players on the Clark State roster, five of them committed at least six turnovers, with three players ending with more turnovers than points. Ultimately, the Eagles finished with 38 turnovers and 38 points. The final score of 38-81 was simultaneously the most points the Eagles have surrendered all season, and the fewest points they have scored all season.

Currently the women's team sits at 2-4, coming off their ugliest game of the season. However, the Eagles have shown repeatedly their ability to come up off the floor. There is little doubt that when it comes to their next game, they will have shaken it off and will be ready to play. In addition, with seven games remaining, there is still plenty left to play. The Eagles take the court next Wednesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. for a home game against Bryant & Stratton. It will be a chance for the girls to avenge a 67-53 loss from earlier in the season.
